Are We Always Right?

Of late, one of my closest friends is going through a dark phase of her life. Most of the time she's either in a dilemma, confused state or emotional stress. Being so close friends, she confides in me and finds an outlet to her frustrations.

Unfortunately, my words, suggestions and advise are going right down the gutter. i'm still unable to comfort her, forget about bringing up a true, unbiased and fair picture of reality in front of her.

However, in my efforts, I've come to some very interesting self realizations and eye openers about my own life. I'm listing 'em down:

1. When it comes to taking decisions, we're always caught up in moral or practical dilemmas, and the eternal questions of "right" and "wrong". In this case, what we need to do is turn inward, find out what is important for us and act without considering the aspects of "right" and "wrong". "Right" and "wrong" are situational. What is inappropriate for us today is not going to be the same for the rest of our lives. Situations keep changing and so does life. Spring follows winter, whether you go to the church or not. The point I want to make is that life takes its own course. As time slips by, new opportunities knock at the door. So, we shouldn't cry over spilled milk or regret about lost opportunities. All that we need to do is ACT, without considering the outcomes.

2. Our life is measured by the number of hours, days, weeks and months when we're happy and at peace, and not by the level of success or the fat bank balance that we make. Happiness and success are NOT relative. So, we want to do what keeps us happy and not what is "right".

Yes indeed. The question of right or wrong is always there. By going deep inside yourself you often find what is good for you at that moment. But due care should be taken on the fact that you do not do any evil even if it may be good for you at that moment.
A given situation may be very complex or may be very simple. It depends upon how you take it. The most important thing is to realise what is your duty at that situation. If you perform your act without thinking of the results, then I think every situation is very simple.
The best example is our father. He followed this principle all his life and still he is doing good. If you go on the rewind then you will find that he stood like a rock in all situations and still standing tall.
