The Yogi

The body is the seat of illusion where nature enacts its play through our senses. The interplay of senses creates desires, leading to the delusion of the mind. Under such delusions, we become egoistic and thereby become attached to the modes and actions.

However, this body, which is forever caught up in the crossroads of materialistic pursuits, is source of liberation. The true yogi engages the organs and performs his actions without any desire, thereby wresting control over the body and mind and being detached mentally.

But this doesn't mean that one should practise sever asceticsm! One who tries to control the organs and senses outwardly without the inner reslove and detachment from the sense objects is just a hypocrite and the biggest loser.

If we're identifying ourselves with our external self, we're mistaken. The body is perishable and is a creation of the basic elements of life. It's the house of the soul, which is immortal. The yogi is conscious of the existence of the soul and works towards fixing the mind on this higher self and achieving true liberation!!
